Tarama
Island is located between Miyako Island and Ishigaki Island. Most of the
island is used for sugarcane cultivation and pasture. Tobacco and vegetables
are also grown in the area. The island's annual crop festival held in
lunar August is considered as a national intangible cultural treasure.
Historical artifacts and worship sites remain in the island giving the
