Sightseeing Spot・
Iheya Island-known
as the birthplace of King Sho Hashi who unified the Ryukyu Dynasty-is
a long and narrow island and is found furthest north among all Okinawa
Islands. About 80% of the island is mountainous, with the mountains rising
to as high as 200 meters. The area has a rich natural environment and
most islanders are successfully engaged in rice farming; their rice produce
is of the highest quality. It is also a place steeped in legends and mystical
