Ishi-kubiri
(stony slope), an ancient road that links Inuha in the town of Motobu
with Nakijin Village, is immortalized in an Okinawan folk song entitled,
Inufa-bushi. In the olden days, the road was used by young couples as
their secret meeting place. Today, this fact is engraved on the stone
monument that stands on the roadside. On the monument is written the Inufa-bushi
line "I wish this road would never end," metaphorically comparing
the road to the couple's love for each other. The Ishi-kubiri evokes the
old Okinawan times.Ishi-kubiri Related Contents
