Kori Large Bridge
Kori Large Bridge was opened to traffic on Feb. 8, 2005. It is the longest bridge-1,960 meters-that links major roads in Japan; connecting Kori Island in Nakijin Village to Yagaji Island in Nago City. Kori Island is a very small island, with a radius of only 1 kilometer and a total population of 361. Before the Kori Large Bridge was built, the islanders used a small ferry as a means of transportation. Now, they can move to and out of the island much more quickly and conveniently, no longer worrying about the weather and the time.
