The Trench Site of Japanese Navy Headquarters
Today, the trench-built by the Japanese Navy construction crew in 1944-still looks like the original Japanese Navy headquarters as used during the battle of Okinawa. Inside the trench remain the rooms used by the Navy commander, the council of war, and the communications personnel. A walking tour of the trench can remind visitors of the tragedy of war and emphasize the importance of peace and human life.
