Sashiki Castle Ruins
The site of the Sashiki Castle Ruins is found on the mountain at the back of the former Sashiki town hall. It is believed that the castle belonged to King Sho Hashi, who unified the kingdom and his father, King Sho Shisho. Today, there are no longer traces of the castle walls but some rooms like the worshippers' hall are still intact. From the ruins, visitors can view not only the Nakagusuku Bay but also the Katsuren Castle Ruins on the Katsuren peninsula.
