The Okinawa
Peace Memorial Hall was built in 1978 as a symbol of peace and, at the
same time, a monument to the Okinawan and mainland Japanese war dead.
The Statue of the Prayer for Peace created by the Okinawan master artist,
Yamada Shinzan, rests inside the heptahedral tower. There is also a museum
