Sightseeing Spot・
The site
of the Shikina-en Gardens is located in Maji, Naha City. It was originally
a villa of a royal family built in 1799 covering approximately 42,000
square meters, and also used as a reception place for Chinese envoys.
Visitors to the place get pleasure from the beautiful setting while walking
around the garden pond. A hexagonal summerhouse and arch gates are arranged
in a beautiful balance on the tiny island in the pond. The place has an
observation spot that presents an excellent view of the entire Shikina-en
