Ryutan Pond
Ryutan Pond is an artificial pond built in 1427. It is shaped like a dragon's head and is 416 meters in circumference, covering 8400 square meters. Long time ago, a banquet was held by the pond every 9th of September in the lunar calendar to welcome envoys from China. During the banquet, the foreigners admired the magnificent Shuri Castle's reflection on the water's surface regarding it as the most famous beauty spot in Ryukyu.
