Zakimi Castle Ruins
It is said that Lord Gosamaru, a famous architect in the early 15th century, built Zakimi Castle-well known for having the oldest arch in Okinawa today. Zakimi Castle consists of two enclosures and the walls that surround these enclosures used coral limestone and were shaped in curved lines. The castle is located on a hill affording a spectacular view of Kerama, Kume, Aguni, and Ie islands as well as other nearby islands on a sunny day.
