Mangroves at Gesashi
Mangroves at Gesashi Bay are spread out within 100,000 square meters around the lower reaches of the Gesashi River making the area the largest mangrove plantation in the entire Okinawa Main Island. The mangroves are Hirugi Trees, which grow at the edge of rivers. At the Gesashi Bay, three out of the four varieties of Hirugi Trees-Ohirugi, Mehirugi and Yaeyamahirugi-that are found in the Okinawa Main Island could also be seen.
