Nakadomari Ruins
The Nakadomari Ruins is a rock-dwelling site on a shell mound that traces its origin to the Sho Dynasty Era, which was almost 3500 years ago. The scale and significance-stone-paved pathways comparable to those seen in modern times were excavated at the site-of the ruins prompted a nationwide reservation movement to prevent road expansion in the area right after the discovery of the ruins. In 1975, the Nakadomari Ruins was declared a national historical site. Today, the top of the hill offers a strategic observation platform for people who want to view the ruins and the surrounding spectacular scenery.
