沖縄では旧盆明けの行事や、夏の風物詩として多くの人に親しまれています。
今年はコロナウイルスの感染拡大でエイサーを見に行きたいけど
行けない方もいるのではないでしょうか？

The iconic tradition of Okinawa’s summer is Eisa!
Okinawan Eisa is very popular as an event after Obon season.
There are many people who want to enjoy seeing Eisa dance but they can’t go because of the Coronavirus.
But don’t worry about that! You can enjoy watching all of our Eisa videos in your house.
【名護市青年エイサー祭り】
毎年旧盆明けに行われ、
名桜エイサー、辺野古青年会、久志青年会、屋部地区若獅子会、
大北地域青年会、振慶名青年会、仲尾次青年会、
宜野座村の漢那青年会と地域の青年会、子ども会など多くの団体が参加します。
夏の夜を力強い演舞で彩るエイサーの祭りです。
【Nago City Young people Eisa Festival】
The festival is held every year after the Old-Obon season.
They have the participation of many Eisa Group from Meio, Henoko, Kushi
Yabu, Okita, Burikina, Nakaoshi and Ginoza Village’s Kanna. They have the children’s group participation also. All groups dance with a lot of energy in the summer night.
【金武町青年エイサー祭り】
毎年7月中旬に金武区青年会、並里区青年会、屋嘉区青年会、
伊芸区青年会、中川区青年会の金武町内5つの団体が一堂に集まり、
勇壮な演舞を披露するエイサーまつりです。
フィナーレには約350発の花火が打ち上げられ、金武町の夜空を鮮やかに彩ります。
【Kin Town Young People Eisa Festival】
Every year in a middle of July, they have the participation from Kin, Namisato, Kina, Igei, Nakagawa. They show a brave performance on this Eisa Festival.
In the Final part, they shots approximately 350 bullets of Fireworks and you can enjoy the Kin Town’s night.
【うるま市エイサーまつり】
旧盆が明けた後にうるま市のエイサーが一堂に集結するうるま市最大の祭りです。
各地域の伝統エイサーが一挙に堪能でき、道ジュネーとは違った面白さが見られます。
【Uruma City Eisa Festival】
After the Old-Obon season, All Uruma City’s Eisa Group participate in this festival. It considered the biggest one in this city. You can enjoy the traditional Eisa of each region at once. Different than Michijune (Night parade for the ancestors)
【平敷屋エイサー】
毎年旧盆の時期にうるま市の勝連半島の先端に位置する平敷屋で行われています。
平敷屋エイサーは伝統を重んじ、古くからの型を守り続けているのが特徴で、
白の襦袢（じゅばん）に黒染の絣（かすり）、黒帯、蝶結びの白鉢巻き、
袖丈を上げる白タオル、足元は裸足と一般的に知られているエイサーとは違った衣装をしています。
これは僧侶または野良仕事の農民を表したものだと伝えられています。
また、平敷屋エイサーは東西二組にわかれており、
東のエイサーは男性の様な力強い踊り、西のエイサーは女性の様なしなやかな踊りと言われ、
他の地域のエイサーとは一味違うエイサーを見ることができます。
【Heshikiya Eisa】
During in the Old-Obon season, In Heshikiya district (near to Katsuren island), The Heshikiya Eisa Group is dancing.
The iconic characteristic of this Eisa is the conservation of the old tradition and keeping the dance style for a long time.
Also the outfit is different from convencional Eisa Group. Use a white Juban and black Kasuri and it dances without Eisa boots.
This Eisa’s interpretation is divided in East and Westgroup.
In the East zone are men who dance with brave performance. On west zone are woman who dance with delicate moves.
【読谷村青年エイサー祭り】
毎年8月の下旬に村内各地区の青年会によるエイサーが一堂に介して
それぞれの地域に伝わるエイサーを披露します。
使われる曲や踊りの違いを楽しめるため「モーイエイサー」と呼ばれています。
太鼓を持たずに素手による手踊り主体の昔ながらの演舞や棒術を取り入れた演舞、
大太鼓や締め太鼓がメインの現代的な演舞などいろいろなエイサーが見られる祭りです。
【Yomitan Village Young People Eisa Festival】
Every year in August, They have the participation from all Village’s Eisa Group. To enjoy the different kinds of Eisa styles, you can see the “Mooi Eisa”. It is recognized that this Eisa dance doesn’t use the Taiko drum like others.
You can also enjoy different kinds of Taiko drum in Eisa and dance styles at this festival.
【嘉手納町エイサー祭り】
毎年旧暦の7月16日に西浜区、中央区、北区、南区などの町内の青年会や、
千原エイサー保存会など町内外からエイサー団体が集まり勇壮なエイサーを披露します。
【Kadena Town’s Eisa Festival】
Every year on July 16th, many young people from the west, middle, north and south participate in this Eisa Festival.
【沖縄青年ふるさとエイサー祭り】
1964年に「第1回全沖縄エイサー大会」と銘打って開催されたのが始まりで、
第15回からは、子どもエイサーが出場するようになりました。
さらに、第30回から現代青年が創作した創作芸能も加わり、
回を重ねるごとに盛り上がりを見せています。
現在は、沖縄県内の北部、中部、南部だけでなく離島のエイサー団体が集まり、
演技を披露する盛大な祭りとして定着しています。
【Okinawa Young People Furusato Eisa Festival】
In 1964 it was founded as the 1st All Okinawa Eisa Festival. Since the 15th Festival, they have had the participation of children.
For additional information, in 30th edition, many Eisa group performed a different style of Eisa dance being more creative.
Nowadays, on this festival, they have the participacion from separated Okinawa’s island.
【沖縄全島エイサーまつり】
1956年の「コザ市誕生」を機に「全島エイサーコンクール」としてスタートし、
毎年、旧盆明けの最初の週末に行われています。
現在では、沖縄の夏の風物詩として日本を代表する祭りの一つとなっています。
本島各地から選抜された青年会などの団体や、全国の姉妹都市、協賛団体からのゲストが集結し、
三線や歌、太鼓のリズムや迫力のあるバチさばきなど本場のエイサーの醍醐味をあじわうことができます。
【Okinawa All Island Eisa Festival】
After the Koza City’s foundation in 1956、 it started as All-Island Eisa Contest.
Every year after the Old-Obon season, it realices on the first weekend.
Nowadays, this Eisa Festival is considered one of the most important events in Japan.
They have the participation from each city, town and village from Okinawa and other guests from other prefectures.
You can enjoy the Sanshin guitar’s performance, Taiko drum’s rhythm, and Okinawa’s traditional song at same time.
生で見た時の迫力には及びませんが、どれも迫力のあるエイサーばかりでした！！

It’s obvious that it doesn’t have the same feeling as the real one. But all of Eisa’s dances are impressive! If the event is open to see Eisa, you should try to participate.
